in hip hop culture you have a distinct sort of dress style, and also distinct slang, these are what made hip hop recognized as a culture. so can fashion and slang be considered elements of hip hop alongside breaking, graffiti, emceeing and dejaying? or are they just what hip hop heads happen to wear and have nothing to do with hip hop? according to krs-one and his temple of hip hop they are but what do you think?

Well there are different styles in hip hop. There is the black jackets and all black tims

And then the flashy will smith kinda style, although the 3rd pic you got there I think is more hipster influenced. But yeah I think it is a part of the culture slang as well.

they are definitely part of the culture and play a big part but i wouldnt go as far as to call them elements of hip hop

anyway here's KRS-One preaching about it, i don't agree with a lot of things he says sometimes, but i'm still wondering about this. coz these things are what made the hip hop generation different and what got it recognized as a culture
