awesome quote from that drug leader lol and cenk is right "he just bitch slapped every american president of the last 30 years"

still not sure about the idea of legalizing drugs though. I think this guy would be rich either way coz whether its legal or illegal you don't think this dude would still be selling drugs to people?

How do you figure? If it was legal it'd be done through drug stores and not from the street. If it was legal the quality would be controlled and deals wouldn't be happening in a criminal environment. People wouldn't be afraid of going to authorities with problems related to drugs... Downside is that children would be exposed to it more. Not sure if more people would be doing drugs if they were legal. With proper education I don't think so. As it is now drugs are being portrayed as some sorta demonic spirit, and there are a lot of prejudices against users.
In Netherlands they tolerate the trade of marijuana and it seems to be working just fine.

But it's not right to compare marijuana with hard drugs.

i really wish they would be legal, mainly so that scientists can be free to experiment again and make new stuff! We haven't had a consistent supply of really good and pure LSD for so long just because it's illegal and there's so much more we can be learning and finding through experimenting with psychedelics, it's such a fascinating field that has had pretty much no progress since the 60's because of the shitty laws

Crime rises when certain things are banned, because an underground black market is created. When such a thing arises, organized crime does the same. The world needs to learn from the Prohibition Era, lets not forget... the Mafia is the product of the prohibition era, the correlation between Al Capone and this guy is STAGGERING. These two individuals gained power and money through bootlegging banned substances. And to be honest, its EASIER for kids to get drugs nowadays than would be if they are LEGALIZED. Ask yourself this question if you are an American, how hard it was to buy alcohol when you were under 21? it was pretty hard wasn't it? and now flip the coin, and ask yourself how cheap and easy it was at the same age to get drugs?

Of course, addiction is a problem, of course some people will do stupid things. But people must see, this "war on drugs" resolves NOTHING, in fact it creates more gangs, more crime and more territory to deal to. If this stuff was LEGAL as it was some 100 years ago, these criminals wouldn't exist or they would resort to petty crimes.

Yeah the underground market makes it a lot easier to access for sure. I've seen proof of this my whole life since I started smoking weed at 11 years old, weed has always been so much easier to get than things like cigarettes or alcohol. It's funny to think that now it actually takes less effort for me to find someone to get 100 hits of acid from than it is to find someone to buy me alcohol.
