Just means he'll become even more popular for the next few years. I don't really care though.

well at least he knows when to quit and how to quit. you can only stay at the top of the pop world for so long eventually they'll get tired of you, and with all the guys like drake and whoever the fuck else, they were always bound to replace him so he's smart for going out like that. i know he'll put out some music here and there but it sounds like he's planning on putting out a lot less than he used to

Lil Wayne has been relevant longer than any other rapper ever, so I honestly believe that he could continue going without anyone getting tired of him.

Lil Wayne's really only been up in the game for like 5 years. Began getting hype in early 2000, escalated around 2007.. But 50 Cent's still more popular around here. And definitely Eminem. Wayne's not even very popular here. How about Nas? Ice Cube.. Dre.. Wu-Tang were relevant for longer too... Snoop?

Huh??????!?!?!?!? bruh bruh you cray cray.
Lil Wayne appeals to more people than anyone you just mentioned. 50 cent is probably the only person comparable but he didn't last very long at all. Wayne was set for success from hot boyz, when he was saying "bling bling."

Eminem still gets more recognition on a global basis. Compared to Eminem he was completely unknown until 2006. Word.
And, depending on what you mean relevant, - De La Soul.

So what we have here is length of success times height of success. It's hard to compare it when it's 2 dimensional. We'll need a number system.

Let's say each million fanatic listener is like a line of coke, and each year is an hour. Eminem's fans would've OD'd 10 years ago bro. I rest my case.

Lil Wayne fucking sucks and I don't care how 'relevant' he is to the masses, he is absolutely fucking terrible.

Run DMC, 2pac, Rakim. Beastie Boys? Lil Wayne has got 12 years of shine. I think by Tha Carter shit was stepped up, and now it seems his breeze is declining. 2pac topped charts from 1993 to 2004. 11 years of shine, and I do believe more intense shine. At least 2 gazillion megalumen. Every major label 2pac album has gone plutonium. That's heavy radiation bro. Eminem has been steady topping charts from 1999 and has steadily floating over Lil Wayne. Perhaps Lil Wayne would peak up above at times, but if you integrate the success as function by time graph, you will find that Eminem's area is greater than Lil Wayne's. We are comparing two dimensional figures with the height times length shit there, and the heights are only estimated, and can also be done in different ways, because we're thinking within different parameters, and it can be relative to civilized population and whatnot.
Still, whether this here discussion comes to a conclusion, there is still the matter of the logical argument in which it was used in. People are extremely tired of him, but his fans obviously aren't. I agree that he could go a few more years. But this way he is leaving while still on top of his game, although not really, but still not taking the chance of being remembered as someone in whom people lost interest in and that way was forced to quit. This way he quits voluntarily and preserves his legacy, however disgusting it may be.
