Heiruspecs is a rare breed of hip hop group in that they are not a group at all, they are a band! along with The Roots, Arrested Development, Us3 and a few others, the Heiruspecs are a live instrument band. hailing from Saint Paul, Minnesota, the band is made up of lead emcee Felix, whose awkward rhyme structure and keen wordplay make for intriguing verses and his subject matter ranges from love to how power corrupts people, beatboxer and backup vocals/rapper Muad'dib, whose amazing beatboxing ability is displayed on their masterpiece "5ves" and his rapping can be heard on tracks like "Heartsprings", bass player Twinkie Jiggles, whose basslines are a highlight on their most highly regarded album "A Tiger Dancing", a keyboard played by dVRG, drums by Peter Legget, whose drumming is unconventional in the hip hop genre, and a guitar played by Josh Peterson.
the Heiruspecs have been around for over ten years now and have gone through many band replacements. ex-members include:
