Trinity (AG, Sadat X, DJ Jab) - "The Bronx" (Download)

New Album Scheduled for Summer 2011 Release; Latest Single Pays Homage To Hip-Hop's Birthplace

If The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit got together to write a track about Hip-Hop's Holy Land, it would sound like Trinity's "The Bronx." The three members of hip-hop's new supergroup play up to their name: AG, of Digging In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) fame, Sadat X, pivotal member of Brand Nubian, and DJ Jab, owner and founder of NYC's Fat Beats Records. It's difficult to say which Holy Trinity role each artist embodies, but it's undeniable that their formation as Trinity is a breath of fresh air. The triumvirate burst onto the scene at Audible Treats' 2009 CMJ Showcase, where they performed together for the first time, and they premiered their first single, "Roc Raida Tribute," shortly there after, in honor of the fallen DJ.

Since then, the trio has been working on the project's full album, which includes their single "The Bronx." The fuzzy, electronic beat with dashes of violin and high-hats provide a dramatic instrumental for the song. Verses include shout-outs to the borough's hot spots, as well as the group's favorite places: "Up 49th St., known as The Hub/ Used to go Elliott, and spin a little dub/ They tore down the stadium and put it across the street/ Cedric Ave., home of the hip-hop beat." The single was also recently used in a national New Era commercial about the Bronx, which was played at Yankee Stadium for the New Era-sponsored Pin Stripe Bowl.

Zion I & The Grouch – "Rockit Man" Feat. Silk-E

With their brand new sophomore album, Heroes In The Healing Of The Nation, all ready for release tomorrow, Zion I & The Grouch are happy to unveil their latest video, for the single “Rockit Man" featuring Bay Area singer/rapper Silk- E, presented by Matt Hobbs of Vital Films and directed by Robyn Twomey. As might have been hoped, the newly released "Rockit Man" music video finds Z&G utilizing the planets, stars, and other elemental imagery to compliment the tracks delightfully spacey tonalities. Also, shot completely in black-and-white, there's an added touch of meditation, which compliments the songs central theme of transcendence.

In addition to releasing the new video, Zion I & The Grouch just wrapped up three packed days of shows at SXSW, including their late addition to the Audible Treats 2nd Annual Hip-Hop Showcase, performing as one of the showcase's headline acts in front of a capacity audience at The Scoot Inn. Following the performance, Zion I & The Grouch kicked off their nationwide tour with a sold out show at San Francisco's historic Fillmore Auditorium. Full dates below for the rest of the tour can be found below.

"Spread the Word" ft artists in the UK who have been giving support/Playforjapan

The 11th of March 2011, we saw Japan suffer its largest earthquake in history, 9.0 on the Richter scale. The quake was soon followed by an enormous tsunami with waves measuring up to ten meters high.

This natural disaster has wiped out towns, taken thousands and thousands of lives (with even more still missing) and had further knock on affects to several of the countries nuclear facilities. Japan is a calm, patient and dignified Nation and will no doubt build from this disaster, however in order to do that they will need as much help as possible.

100% profit goes to: Red Cross UK's Japan Tsunami Appeal
Project by: A Bridge Too Far Recordings & The Find Magazine

Thank you to Spread The Word
