The Last Days of Kartika is an online graphic musical that uses Funk, Soul, and Hip Hop music to tell the story of the citizens of Kartika during their most troublesome times. Dusky Diana is the would-be hero recruited by underground rebel group Community Education in their fight to ruin the sinister Phercy Corporations. Will Community Edu save their city or be the cause of its destruction?
The Project: A season will culminate into a 45minute to one hour multi-media concert with new musical works by the Hip Hop collective Community Education.The project brings the motion comic to life, merging its digital avatar with a real time theatrical production. Kartika is a story told in multiple mediums yet still centers itself in musical composition. Its basic ingredients are that of traditional musical theater, however, its presentation incorporates new media.
The Otherside Remix Music Video was filmed in various locations for about a year and a half throughout 2010-2011. It is the duo's second video collaboration with long time friend and director Jason Koenig (My Oh My).

Arguably the best rappers Canada has never experienced, Gill Breathing lives Hip Hop. 'The Fam' is led by the skills and accomplishments of emcee Mathematik. Math first came to light with the BeatFactory compilation that also brought Canadian MCs Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates and Choclair to the forefront.
From there 'Math' set out to make his own mark with critically acclaimed Albums 'Ecology' in 1999 and then the equally introspective 'No Division' in 2005. He has equally strong works that are not even on his own albums. He joined the likes Hip Hop heavyweights Mos Def, Common, Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg, Hi-Tek, Consequence and the Lootpack on the historic Super Rappin compilation with the gem 'Following Goals' alongside Bahamadia.
He has opened for legendary KRS One, Black Moon and De La Soul and has graced stages in England, New York and even Philadelphia where he performed alongside Slum Village. In 2006 Mathematik toured Canada with Saukrates and Drake as the opening acts for Nelly Furtado. The entire Gill Breathing family most recently opened for Talib Kweli on his Revolutions Per Minute Tour.
As artists from Canada have been making waves internationally, Mathematik has gone back to work as hard as ever. His latest international colaboration was alongside Japan's DJ Mitsu the Beat. The project features Soul sensation Ivana Santilli and 2 absolute gems from 'Math' including 'Impulse' and 'Hard Candy' featuring Saukrates on the chorus. Whether on his own or as the anchor for the 'Gill Breathing' fam, don't sleep when this man's on the mic.
Family member Solar-C decided to follow in his cousin Mathematik's footsteps and started putting pen to pad early on. What started as his hobby has begun to evolve into something else. In 2009, his track 'On My Way' (produced by Elaquent) got him noticed by the Stylus Group, Spinfest, and HipHopCanada as one of the artists 'Who Got Next'! 'Solar' continues to collaborate with artists all over the world and has even graced stages in South Korea. He is a gifted producer and continues to put together works for his mix-tape series 'Science of Living'.
Brother to Elaquent, Es might be called the most cerebral of these emcees. His 'thinking man' poetry flows effortlessly and will have you pressing rewind over and over to catch every sylable. Es' holds court whenever he gets the chance and his collaborative reach is just as impressive as any other member of 'Gill Breathing' with team-ups from Canada to Mozambique! Either on the regular with the crew 'Homegrown' or most notably in Canada, with Swollen Members' Moka Only on yet another Elaquent produced joint, Es is determined to prove to 'true school' cats, why the "whole world is in love with the Es!"
Elaquent (or eQ) IS raw talent! The self proclaimed, Sega-fan-boy, Kung-Fu-movie-buff, has been on the grind since 2002. His beat disk series 'Elaquent: In colour' have become internet classics. He has remixed classic Hip Hop joints like De La Soul's 'Stakes is High' for his "Joints for the Ipod" project, and regularly drops gems on the world via Myspace including a remix for "Slakah the Beatchild's" 'Dance'. EQ has recently taken to the stage in his quest to be "KingOfTheDot" in organized producer battles and continues to impress with every outing.
