"I Got A Man" - Maimouna Youssef (dir. Brian "B.Kyle" Atkins)

Baltimore native Maimouna “Mumu Fresh” Youssef is a singer, emcee, songwriter and poet. She received a Grammy nomination for her contribution on The Roots' hit “Don’t Feel Right” in 2007 for best rap song, and made her big screen debut on Dave Chappelle's Block Party. She has swapped musical licks with such artists as Nas, Dead Prez, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Mos Def. Maimouna released her first solo EP entitled Black Magic Woman on March 1, 2011 and has recently released her first full-length solo album, The Blooming. “I Got A Man” was directed and edited by Brian “B.Kyle” Atkins of Gifted Films, Inc. and shot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania & Washington, DC. The video approaches the song’s love triangle theme from a unique perspective, showing Maimouna as an embattled independent music artist searching for a balance between the music business and her love for creating free honest music.
