It all started about 1993, when at 8 years old I had memorized all the words to "Nothin But a G Thang" and "Gin n' Juice". I asked my mother for three tapes for Christmas, Dr. Dre's "The Chronic", Cypress Hill's "Black Sunday", and Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Doggystyle". I was quickly denied and wast old that I was too young for such vulgar music. I stayed persistant and managed to convince my babysitter to buy them for me. I kept them carefully hidden and secretly listened to them whenever I had a chance. At age 13, I was heavily into skateboarding and came across a skate video called "The Sixth Sense" (Before the Bruce Willis Movie). During a Josh Kalis/Stevie Williams segment, I heard for the first time the song "Vital Nerve" by Company Flow. This seemingly insignificant moment changed my life forever. My love for Hip Hop was reborn, and I searched for the Company Flow album "Funcrusher Plus" for 3 years before I finally found it in a local record store. At age 16, I was becoming a real Hip Hop head when I met then 16 year old emcee Issac the Osiris. I had never heard anyone freestyle in person before and I was blown away by his skill. Eventually, after hearing me recite a difficult Company Flow verse, Issac convinced me that I should try freestyling. Reason the Citizen was born. In the winter of 2001, myself and Issac met local producer TactiK and formed Paragon Army. We began recording songs in TactiK's room with a computer and a Bob Barker style microphone with a sock over it. Paragon Army eventually combined forces with three other local emcees and formed "Abyss Prophets". After several local shows, a small tour, and a self produced album, the members of AP went there seperate ways. I teamed up with AP team mate Concept and local emcee Mark My Words and created "Natural Selection". Not being 21 yet, I spent most of my days as a member of Nat Select waiting outside various bars for my moment to play, and was usually promptly escorted outside as soon as I was finished. After playing a ton of shows in southern California and Arizona, Natural Selection split up due to creative differences. I began splitting sets with high school friend and emcee Tacs, under the moniker "The Box". We went on to play shows thoughout California, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. In late 2006 I met emcee and now friend Input from Denver, CO. After a string of bad shows, I temporarily lost the motivation to play shows and record songs, and in early 2007, my girlfriend became preganat with my daughter. After nearly two years of silence and struggling to support a family, I re-connected with Input in early 2008 and recorded a track called "Mr. Bad Guy" for his upcoming album "Pictureface". In July of 2008, Input came through San Diego on tour and I performed Mr. Bad Guy with him. Once again my love for performing was re-born. Since then I have been recording my new solo debut "Broke For Free" which is being released in February 2009 under Input's independent label Fameless Entertainment. My new album documents my life long struggle to achieve success, the trials and tribulations of a stereotypical fuckup. I have put a lot of hard work and effort into writing and recording this album, and I have very high hopes for the next year! Be on the lookout for "Broke For Free", its been a long time coming, and I am promising my greatest work to date. If you read this entire bio, I congratulate you, you have great patience
