Check out re-created classic album covers from hip-hop artists such as Run-D.M.C., Salt-N-Pepa, Queen Latifah, The Wu-Tang Clan and LL Cool J., and lots more, in "Uncovered: A Pageant of Hip Hop Masters," taking place at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Aug. 6, Aug. 7, Aug. 8.
Curated by Rickerby Hinds, the multimedia celebration of hip hop culture will feature a DJ, music, dancers, live theater actors and lots of movement.

The album re-creations will feature a DJ spinning songs from the specific albums and dances popular during the album's release.

The event is organized by UCR Sweeney Art Gallery, Hindsight Productions and Hinds, who curates the event with Sweeney Art Gallery assistant director Shane Shukis.

Hinds has received a Master of Fine Arts degree in playwriting from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television where he was twice given the Audrey Skirball-Kenis (ASK) Award for best play.

He is an associate professor of playwriting in the Department of Theatre at UCR and creator and director of the Califest Hip Hop Theatre Festival.

Previously, he taught at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Redlands.

Tickets are $10 but there are only 50 spots per performance.

Audiences must RSVP through the UCR Artsblock Web site at http://www.sweeney.ucr.edu/exhibit.....lasso.
