absolutely agreed that money has a lot to do with it, and if a drug was made illegal today i'd agree that it only had to do with money, but most of the drugs referred to here were outlawed in the late 19th/early 20th century, at a time when race was a large factor, possibly even the most important. i'm sure there are other factors as well, but the fact is that during the time when drugs were being made illegal left and right, race was, indeed, a very important factor. i'd say another important factor at that time was religion.
