During the last 2 weeks I have finally found the type of music I was searching for!!!
That grudge/metal crap, I'm not feeling...BUT instead I have found an alternative. And quite coincidentally, it's Alternative Rock. I'm digging The Fray, Coldplay, Keane, Daughtry, James Morrison, A-Ha; bands of that nature.

Quote (Lord_Meth) Coldplay Quote (Lord_Meth) Daughtry
i haven't listened to the others you mentioned, but these two are so unbarably bad that i will never listen to any of the other bands/artists you mentioned simply because you associated them with these two.

WAT?? I can understand how u dont like Daughtry. A lot of people dont. But I like their sound. It's kinda soulful. Coldplay is aight, but A-Ha and The Fray are shit loads better. I basically like any band that plays the piano as a lead insrument or bands with melodic grooves. Quote (Menace) Negroes hate METAL !! ITS AN UNWRITTEN LAW !!! This man knows his shit lol

lol i'd say Coldplay is a bit more hated than Daughtry actually. and like i said, it is not because i don't like the music from other groups you mentioned, it is simply that you equated them with those two bands, which makes me extremely hesitant to listen to them lol. as for A-Ha, aren't they the people who did "Take On Me"? yeah, no thanks. anything New Wave, or any 80's music besides hip hop for that matter, i will gladly pass on. 80's is easily the worst decade in music history (yes, worse than 2000-2010, and even worse than the current decade, even though we have only gone through one year of this decade).

there was good hip hop in the 80's and maybe punk. other than that there were maybe a few albums here and there that broke the mold, but for the most part it was a terrible decade for music.

That's too bad for u then. A-Ha's 2005 album Analogue isn't anything like their 80's music. It's way more caught up. Trust me, no bullshit either. James Morrison isn't anything like thos groups I mentioned. He's a solo artist who does alternative rock but he sings with soul. I don't listen to 80's music besides Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder -- simply because they're beast.

Some of the most influential punk bands came out of the 1980's. The 1980's got rid of 77 Punk (Ramones, Clash, etc) and brought in the fast, loud, angry shit that punk is known for.
wanna post more, but no one would listen, so eh. wuteva.
80's also had some good grungy shit in the late 80's.. and crossover thrash metal. and phil fucking collins!! david bowie! u2! i fucking hate both of them, but they were influential as fuck!
but yeah... the 80's were the golden age of punk IMO. fast, loud, angry, and most of it had a message.
Life's a bitch and I'm just along for the ride.
