This is tough for me, The Chronic is one of the first albums that got me in love with hip hop. 36 Chambers has slightly better lyrics and both have legendary production. Very even for me, I'm gonna go with The Chronic because of the memories and also because I know 36 Chambers is gonna come and blow it away in votes anyway

I feel like this shouldn't even be a question. 36 Chambers is in my top 3 hip hop albums ever easy. Chronic is ok, but MF Grimm ghostwrote the whole thing and the beats aren't quite as memorable as 2001.
and just have to say I think this is the first time I've ever seen anyone say Wu-Tang are overrated and I just don't get it. The quality of their music might have gone down over time like it does with most artists, but the original collective still innovated the shit out of the hip-hop genre.

Quote (KingGoo) but MF Grimm ghostwrote the whole thing For real? MF Grimm was ghostwriting for Dre? Haven't heard about that before. He didn't write the whole thing, that's preposterous, but I also find it hard to believe that he did any of it since he wasn't really big at that time, and even more so that this underground (if even) rapper in New York would write for Dre who was recording the album in LA. I'm curious as to where this rumour comes from...

hmm maybe my info is wrong then, I remember hearing about it a while back though, didn't Grimm talk about it in some interview or one of his books/comics or some shit? either way someone still ghostwrote it for Dre so my point stands, Dre's lame haha

lol looked it up and this rumor seems to have come from Wikipedia in 2006, but its not on there anymore
some were saying he wrote on 2001 others saying The Chronic but Dre's ghostwriters on those albums are all credited and Grimm isn't there. RBX, Snoop & DOC wrote his rhymes for The Chronic. Hittman, Stocks McGuire, Jay-Z, Eminem & Royce Da 5'9" wrote rhymes for him on 2001, Hittman did most of them and was featured on nearly every track

Wu-Tang wrote for each other too. Well, at least that's what hiphopdx reported. Said Method Man claims ODB had RZA and GZA writing his album. And that he wrote a verse for Ghostface. Think there was a thread on here about it not too long ago... Seems whole Death Row was gay though, jacking beats and shit...
