I guess I'm an atheist. It seems like most atheists feel this need to prove that god doesn't exist, however. I don't really feel any joy in taking away something that people feel joy and completeness from and sometimes I get kind of annoyed when I see a person trying to do that. Personally, though, even if there was a God and he was all that great and everything... I don't think he could care about people worshiping him.

But the point is, the insults and condescension that come with religious debates are sort of sectioned off from newcomers and discouraged by regulars. Additionally it relieves the site of any impression of bias by providing opposing views with equal standing.
