We're putting together a list of top 5 hip hop albums from every year from 1984 all the way up until 2010. we're already doing it in the youtube group but we should use the other networks to contribute to the list too.

the way it will add up is the albums get 5 points if it gets named number 1, 4 points for being named 2, 3 points for number 3, 2 points for number 4 and 1 point for being named number 5 on peoples top 5 lists.

after the lists are drawn the top 2 albums from each year will be put against other albums in a tournament style brackets, we will have votes to see which album will come out as the greatest

lol I Bought it when it came out and was pretty dissapointed, I liked a few tracks.
The Thiefs Theme remix with Rising Sun is fucking baaaaad ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBDmDmyQyZQ

Skinnymans album was one of the first UK albums I bought, and is definitely a classic album.
Its not actually one of my favourite UK albums though funnily enough, same goes for klash's saga.
There's alot of better stuff out there...

i'm still shocked that Charizma & PB Wolf's "Big Shots" and King Geedorah's "Take Me To Your Leader" weren't on that list and that absolute piece of pure garbage that was 50 Cent "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" were. i will say though that GRODT was the first mainstream album since the 90's to which an artist had the intention of getting people to listen all the way through. too bad it was mostly garbage like "Wanksta" and "In Da Club" though. i might consider giving 50 Cent credit for "Many Men", but that's as far as i'll go.

That track and Eminem's verse in "Patiently Waiting" were the only parts I could tolerate in that album. Don't remember how it went, just remember I was impressed by it.

this year was way better than 2003, thank god

my top 5

1. Saul Williams - Saul Williams
2. Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer
3. MF Doom - MM.. Food
4. Madvillain - Madvillainy
5. Kanye West - College Dropout

Royce Da 5'9"'s Death Is Certain was close but just missed out. Saul Williams takes it for me on lyricism alone, the production wasn't the best but the lyricism was just legendary it had to be number 1 for me, i just wasn't that into Madvillian, idk maybe it has to grow on me more
