Al Sharpton is just a fucking tool, the biggest rhyme talking bastard ever, he is your typical crooked preacher that loves to play with words so he can get YOUR MONEY. He makes no intellectual effort to understand an independent point of view regarding everything, you either with us or your with the right wingers and racists. He plays to much to the Democratic Parties drum because he's part of it, he tries to present his party as the party that emancipated black people while Cornell West presents an INDEPENDENT, authentic non-partisan analysis of the struggle even tho Cornell is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America which i think makes him more intellectually and morally able to talk about this. Al Sharpton sold out a long time ago, he is your average institutionalized "black activist" playing the drum of partisan politics. Obama is part of the establishment he's institutionalized that's why he won't address and correct the misery and the brutality in the inner city, if he resolves that then he destroys his position. Cornell just owned Al because he just defends Obama because hes BLACK and that's IT, you can see it in the video Cornell asked what did Obama actually do? he didn't even keep his campaign promises. Let one Democratic Party member defend another. This is partisan politics in which our guys are our guys and shit keeps rolling.

he was the dude preachin wit mos def about 9/11 conspiracies. A simple wiki search let me know he's religious, he's a socialist. Instead of using intellect and logic to defend his beliefs, he tries to appeal to listeners' emotions by dressing up his opponents as evil villains. That he's fighting for some greater good, like its some cheesy action movie. Socialists always do that tho.

Really all they want is easy jobs with a bunch of benefits.

Unless your an economist, anybody that participates in real political discussions are dumb because they think what they say matters when it doesn't. Your not gonna change anything by talking about what you believe. If you want political change then you need money, coke, and hoes... tru shit

This is pure prejudice because he's a socialist, this is your whole critique of him, where does he preach 9/11 conspiracies? what does his religion has to do with anything? And TheHipHopSpot, when Cornell was backing up Obama in 2009 people like Mumbia Abu Jamal for example were talking about his deals with Wall Street and stuff like that, i personally uploaded his commentaries on youtube, so Cornell is very late, this is my only thing with Cornell that he plays along whit any compromise with any progressive compromise. Oh and political science/ political philosophy is VERY DIFFERENT than ECONOMICS, two different fields my friend ;)

Oh menace, i added some more reasons after you posted.

Quote (Menace)

its not being prejudice, its having common sense. I showed Erik the problems with an economy under socialism. But yeah, political beliefs tell a lot about a person.

Quote (menace)
where does he preach 9/11 conspiracies?

he did on TV with mos def. I dont remember what show it was.

Quote
what does his religion has to do with anything?

religion requires faith. In order to have faith then you need to ignore logic. I'm not gonna have an illogical person tell me how i should be living my damn life.

That has nothing to do with the debate they were having, Cornell just nailed the hypocrisy of black people defending Obama because he's black and that's it you imply to much, you involve things that don't need to be involved, and that's IT, you just make a big deal out of it because he's a socialist, you are prejudice if he was a right wing libertarian he was more fitted to talk hence this showing that you hold prejudice against socialists not to say you use 50's Cold War stereotypes.

No he didn't, he was on Real Time with Bill Maher i have that whole season on DVD, you just puke shit our of your ass, here's the whole segment you are mentioning, you just talk nonsense, at least admit you were wrong LOL :D

This too is prejudice.

That is tackling the person instead of his argument. Isn't taking religious beliefs of the person up as a reason to make his points invalid doing the same mistake?

ya im interested in them videos thanks. and im not calling cornell a god or anything, its just that nothing in any of the videos i posted suggest hes a bad person. this is the video j breakz is referring to where mos def questions 9/11. mos def simply questioning it is enough to have the guy sitting next to him attacked. how fucking bullshit is that? if you dont think people in power can be evil, go ask the germans. fact is, most conscious rappers now days dont believe the official story of 9/11. along with the 9/11 commission. every time i mention the 9/11 commission it gets conveniently ignored. it use to bother me, but i realized people just have nothing to say because what the fuck are you going to say?!lol
