Evolution isn't a theory on how life started, it's how it evolved.
Either there's always been life, or life has "suddenly" (not sure how it can be sudden) come to be. It's just as odd that it's always been, so excluding things that are odd gets us nowhere.
Remember, given enough time, the most unlikely thing to happen will happen.
If you believe in, or rather understand genetics, evolution is only logical.

this is true that evolution isn't a theory on how life started but the logical conclusion is not that "life has always existed". that is why to this same statement from NtG earlier i posted a link to talkorigins.org. it is an FAQ on a theory called "abiogenesis". abiogenesis is the prevailing theory on how life came from non-living entities. it has to do with RNA forming from a combination of amino acids, and eventually forming the first single-celled organisms.
