RALLY AGAINST INJUSTICE IN THE PICO NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!

This THURSDAY, july 1, 2010, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Santa Monica City Hall

City Council will be deciding on the next 15 to 20 years of city development.

MEANING, they will be deciding where the hotels, companies, businesses, and overall polluting entities will be placed. Historically, the Pico Neighborhood has been the DUMPING GROUND. Our Voices must be Heard!!!

We need to insure that our family’s health, safety, and environment are protected!!! There will be a Rally & Speak out for ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE to push out a Land use and development policy that would make Santa Monica’s Pico Neighborhood a Green Zone:

Meaning, NO MORE POLLUTION IN OUR HOMES, IT’S TIME TO GIVE BACK!

We want: -Enhance environmental protection: Make sure that environmental laws protect the health and safety of our neighborhood.

-Expand green space: More trees, community gardens, and real parks. (No more parks like Stewart Park)

-Dislocation protection for families: Families should NOT be kicked out of their homes. We believe the city should grow and advance but still put the residents before money.

ID YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT WITH POSTERS AND CHANTS STOP BY THE PICO YOUTH AND FAMILY CENTER ANY TIME BEFORE THE RALLY. WE WIIL BE STARTING THE MARCH AT 4:00PM FROM THE PYFC
