Scroobius Pip Ft. Sage Francis, Metermaids & Cecil Otter - "Let Em Come (Redux)"‏

Early this month, Brooklyn duo Metermaids released their sophomore LP, Rooftop Shake. The album, including production from 9th Wonder along with features from 9th, Sage Francis, and Buck 65, was the duo's first release through Sage Francis' Strange Famous Records, and in the spirit of keeping things in the (new) family, rappers Sentence and Swell, along with Sage and Cecil Otter, are now joining fellow SFR artist Scroobius Pip for a second take on his latest single with the "Let 'Em Come (Redux)."

The redux, on which Cecil Otter also handles production duties, takes on a more somber tone that Pip's original, opting for ambient guitars and keyboard rolls rather than gritty bass lines and heavy drums. For their verse, Metermaids trade bars back and forth for maximum effect, as they weave a mix of dark lyrics with lines like, "Save the strong, drown the rest/ Mama's got to make sure these mouths are fed/ When papa comes through, he's gonna pound some heads."
