LMAO @ this thread.....sorry dude but I just find it funny that you're being punished from a website.... When i was your age I got scolded for things like drugs and fighting and staying out all nite drinking and stuff...my mom would've loved to see me at home enjoying some shit like this... ya there is some swearing and rude comments here but nothing you won't hear at school or on t.v and shit-
I'd recommend finding the most intellegent hiphop tracks you can find and play them for him and tell him that's the kinda shit we discuss here or something... FIGHT THE POWER!!!! wink
He was young once too!!!! Remind his old ass of that -lol

i thought he was 15 for some reason but even still...at 13 is when i started getting into the drugs scene and what not -
...and that just goes to show how much things have changed...none of my friends at that age would've gotten in trouble for being on a hiphop website....my mom supported my love for the music and bought me a lot of tapes and shit....when i used to stay up late recording videos she was happy cuz I wasn't out runnin' the streets getting in trouble...... I'm just sayin', Uncharted's pops should be happy cuz he could be doin' a lot worse and now that his dad is trying to ban him off this site He might choose to rebel and go do something else that may get him into trouble or something.

true but their parents dont know that, i was the same way when my children first joined myspace. i didn't want to hear their side at first but then i decided to explore it myself and teach them some saftey online.. sometimes parents get distracted and tend to talk back without listening to ur side, maybe if you sat down and wrote a letter explainig what the site is about starting off with us not supporting most corporate rap because of the nasty things they play on the radio and bad messages.. tell them we are partnered with stop the violence movement also through hip hop.. my daughter once wrote me a letter and she asked me to please stop everything and read it.. idk maybe it will help but if ur parents dont want u on here u have to know its what they feel is the best for you whether it is or not.. me and as a parent could never tell anyone to sneak around because i wouldnt want anyone telling my kids to do that to me.. i know i'm not always parents are not always right and i know i'm not always right but sometimes what i do for my kids is because i love them more then anything in this world..give it some time and like i said try to get through in writing and make it good because u only get one chance to make a point. Another thing i suggest is asking them to join the site as well and maybe they will see its not as bad as they think it is like i do with my kids.

Both of those ideas might work but he might ignore me because he thinks im obsessed with this site and it can make me grow up being a retard....If i say the website is associated with the stop the vioence movement i might have a chance.

stop the vioence movement i

and not only stop the violence but show him the declaration of peace by krs one, temple of hiphop stv movement.. i will have to post all this somewhere..

In 1987, Afrika Bambaataa called a historic meeting at the Latin Quarter night club where he urged the Hip Hop community to become more politically and socially active. Personally influenced by the meeting, KRS-ONE went to work releasing a 12" single entitled “Stop The Violence.” The popularity of this song gave rise to a swelling community of conscious Hip Hop. Then in 1989, KRS-ONE, along with Ann Carli (VP of A&R at Jive records) and author/musicologist Nelson George, developed an all-star project that would become a legendary Hip Hop peace anthem, “Self-Destruction”.
As KRS-ONE said, “We got ourselves together so that you could unite and fight for what’s right.” The recording boldly denounced Black-on-Black violence with quotes like this one from Kool Moe Dee “I never ever ran from the Ku Klux Klan and I shouldn’t have to run from a black man.” The proceeds from “Self-Destruction” were given to the Urban League for community programs and made it cool to ‘Stop The Violence.’

In response to the increased violence and confusion of today, Hip Hop activist/philosopher, KRS-ONE has revitalized the ‘Stop The Violence’ movement. He is calling upon the global Hip Hop community to take responsibility for the way in which conflict is resolved.

The Stop the Violence Movement (STVM) is a Hip Hop community with a mission to advance an ongoing series of movements to diminish global violence through education, critical dialogue, grassroots organizing and direct action.
The STVM achieves its mission by providing organized programs, workshops, symposiums and media campaigns that heighten the awareness of the effects of violence, create multi-generational dialogue and supplies parent and youth oriented educational tools for conflict resolution.

We are calling for balance! Balance within ourselves, balance in the media, in our communities, in the world.

The Hiphop Declaration of Peace guides Hiphop Kulture toward freedom from violence, and establishes advice and protection for the existence and development of the international Hiphop community. Through the principles of this Hiphop Declaration of Peace we, Hiphop Kulture, establish a foundation of Health, Love, Awareness, Wealth, peace and prosperity for ourselves, our children and their children's children, forever. For the clarification of Hiphop's meaning and purpose, or when the intention of Hiphop is questioned, or when disputes between parties arise concerning Hiphop; Hiphoppas shall have access to the advice of this document, The Hiphop Declaration of Peace, as guidance, advice and protection.

show him this, i like the way krs one talks about hip hop culture here, temple of hip hop, stv..
