Yes, I'm well aware of that. Not the particular methods, but I'm well aware there are ways around smoking cannabis/marijuana. I was speaking only for ingesting the smoke without the carcinogens removed, especially considering most people just smoke joints straight up. If you could convince people that promote marijuana to promote taking it in moderation, not smoking it but using one of the methods you mentioned, avoiding using it outside of it's medicinal usage, and only buying it from a safe buyer, ie: a pharmacy in California, then there would be no problem. The problem is that it's illegal so these problems will continue on and on until we legalize it because we cannot promote it and only safe promotion can lead to proper usage. Street promotion only leads to problems.

Pure chocolate is an antioxidant Mark. The problem with pure chocolate is that it tastes like shit and needs all sorts of unhealthy additives to make it taste good. Alcohol in general is actually good in very minute doses, especially for specialized problems (this is coming straight from medical diaries and other scholarly works) like food born illness. Weed, as Menace said, has many medicinal purposes that are quite positive. The problem is not the cannabis itself, it's 1. The extra crap that comes with it when you buy it off of a street dealer because it doesn't go through the FDA 2. Any kind of smoke is bad for your lungs, therefore, smoking it isn't the best choice, especially if that patient has respiratory problems like I do, and 3. It is good in moderation, just as any substance on earth, but people get high off of it and go way past the "good for your body" dosage. This goes for anything. Even too much water will kill you as proven by that Canadian radio station where they encouraged a girl to drink 2 gallons of water in like 10 minutes without going to the restroom and she died. People overdose on Tylenol all the time as well. The problem is that there is such a trend towards overusing marijuana (aka getting high on it) that it becomes a bad thing. Now I am all for legalization of marijuana -- hell, drugs in general (we are only creating a taboo and people like to flirt with taboos in our society. That is one of 1,000 reasons I could name) -- but those facts above are undeniable. In fact, if you think logically, legalization, over a period of time, will only decrease each of those problems or it is supported by the fact that marijuana isn't the only drug with that problem. That isn't to say, however, that I encourage the drug's use. If anything I encourage it only as a last option and discourage, but do not condemn, any recreational use. I myself have never ingested the substance, nor have I found myself in a situation suitable to do so. Maybe if I someday do I will, but until then, there is no reason

Word, Word, Word.
Respect is due here.
I can keep it to a every 2 weekends type thing, with some one-hitter quitter stuff. Just enough to get me feeling nice, and able to forget about things for a few hours. Getting bombed out and just totally fucked on pills weed and everything else isn't just dangerous, it can be scary, as I learned the first few times I smoked weed.
Rule: Never smoke some reggie weed and do adderrall at once.
