Okay so i bought a brand new AKG perception condenser mic for recording vocals
(Not raps or anything) But when i put it in my laptop and go to use it it won't let me
it doesn't record anything my built in mic works fine but its shit. does anybody know how to use a mic
on a laptop other then a pc mic. do i need too change anything. please i need help.

Try updating the drivers of your sound card. Or recording with Audition.

i record with a mic and my laptop, but i have to change the way i put in the plug part that goes into the computer, i have to fiddle with it sometimes only put it halfway in, otherwise it will only record half of the sound, you should be able to check how much its recording in whatever program you're using.
if thats not it then you might have an old computer with a crappy soundcard
