I mean if u think the regular season means nothing then that means the teams will just be floating thru the game and practice, theres no drive for them to get better, there would be nothing pushing them
All NBA players goal is to make the playoffs, if that wasnt the goal then why do u think people would take their precious time during the summer to train for the regular season, then they can push themselves to the playoffs were they take their game to another level
The regular season is just as important as the playoffs, trust

Yeah regular season is really important to get in the playoffs and to improve the game, but for the teams that made it to the playoffs regular season doesn`t matter, if chicago gets into the second round, they would have a better season than boston, even if boston was second in regular season (east) and chicago was only seventh. And if a team has the best record in the regular season, it means nothing, Golden State against Dallas was the best example.

U cant get into the playoffs with a shitty record (duh) so u have to take time to get better in the regular season
For teams who r automatic to get in the playoffs (Boston, Lakers) yea it doesnt matter but u have ur (Oklahoma, Memphis) u have to take the regular season seriously
