I will admit that Ren & Stimpy did have creative writing and didn't rely exclusively on offensive material like South Park and Family Guy does, but I can explicitly remember them using the word 'crap' in one of their episodes, and I used the word that same day and got my ass handed to me by my parents. There is a reason they took that show off of Nick and now the only time you can passively see it is on ADULT swim. It's an adult cartoon any way you look at it.

Just listen to the Happy Happy Joy Joy song, but pay attention. Ren is talking about committing suicide. It's not a show children should be watching, IMO.


That shit aint on adult swim, and it ran for 5 consecutive seasons, counting re runs on nick it ran for damn near 10 years. im pretty sure if people thought the way you were thinking than it would have been taken off.

 funny u say that alcatraz, check this out guys..makes me think of tom & jerry. how much i enjoyed that show so the other day my mom recorded some old shows for my 5 year old niece and my sister flipped after watching a few episodes.. i asked, whats the problem? its just tom and jerry lol she said it was to violent for a 5 year old, i guess she thinks her mind is not ready for it..they run around hating on each other planing sceems lol anyway i use to love tom & jerry but i respect my sis and don't put it on when niece is around lol its so funny.i just never thought about it before.... i was like that with my kids on certain things but i never thought of tom and jerry so violent, some cat chasing a mouse and a mouse torturing a cat lol..well i guess its pretty rough LOL they don't even talk but i guess action speaks louder than words lol
