Intro: I kick the **** out of the beats ...because they deserve it. The first time I heard Hip Hop was in Romania. It was the Whodini Escape album. The drums were really interesting. I loved the patterns. But they lyrics, how they told stories, that's what grabbed me the most. By the time I was sent to China, I was into Eric B, BDP, Biz Markie, Sugar Hill, De La, Tribe, Kane, etc. Getting the music wasn't easy and everything was expensive so I wore each out. Hong Kong was a little behind the US HH wave, so I was living the HKHH scene a decade or so later, but it was happening for the first time there. Then I went back to EU, but I didn't like their HH as much. More angst than anything. While that has it's place, I prefer to be happy. ...I'll stop before I novel my life. I <3 Hip Hop!

I <3 Hip Hop! nice and interesting... i didn't really post what got me into hip hop... in 4th grade i was a HUGE troublemaker... rap was cool to everyone at that age... actually i'll go back to third grade... or maybe it was even before 3rd grade... i had tony hawk pro skater games... and those had some damn good hip hop... i loved it... then i got a game called Def Jam Vendetta ... that game was HIP HOP... i loved how dmx dressed... (huge baggy camo jeans and a thick chain) and i loved the music... so in 4th grade i went out to buy a dmx album... i ended up getting "the great depression" SHIT WAS CRAZY THEN.. rape, darkness, hardcore, and pussy all in one album... blew my mind... it was like another world... i loved it... my list of favorite things from 4th grade... the favorite song on it is "damien 3"... then in middle school things changed... rap wasn't "cool anymore" so i stopped listening until about 7th... where i'd secretly listen to it alone... eminem, masta ace... i have a sticky fingaz sign from my bar mitzvah (lol and no i'm not jewish anymore, i'm aethist) but in 8th... i like 50 cent/soulja boy garbage... until mid year in 8th i listened to songs from san andreas... SHIT WAS CRAZY!!... i started a love for eazy e's music and introduced it to my friends who loved it too... then it went to ice cube and tupac... then to eminem... in 9th grade i lost about all my friends... i didn't go to school because i hated it... i also was a huge eminem dick rider a year ago... then this year i started listening to all types of old school underground shit... which leads to now... i'm a hardcore hip hop fan the most... wu tang, onyx, mobb deep, big l, big pun, biggie, dmx, and more are my super super favorites

Quote (HateMainstreamMusic) i have a question chinita... how old were you when you're uncle started bringing you to block parties?... when he took me to the block parties i was about 8 or 9 but i forget, then i continued on from there going to all the block parties in the beginning when hip hop was getting huge in the streets. in the 80's i was bbgirling and djaying around town with the friends and the crazy hip hop sceen of every kind, anything that had to do with music or making beats, looking for breaks lol. you can find the parties anywhere outdoors, even parks were more like a social gathering to party with music and play handball lol..the djays would plug their equipment into a lamp post lol stealing electricity but the police wouldn't say anything back then because they knew we partied and kept out of trouble, same thing at the beaches in Brooklyn, bronx..every neighborhood had their own local djays, it was like their marked territory, if it rained the parties would be in a basement, local school or church centers/community rooms. the dj would mix, blend, scratch beats while we break danced or each person would get on the microphone to emcee.. we also had many different bboy and emcee crews so there would be nothing but battles in the streets, train stations or anywhere you can put down a peace of card board or get to the tracks to bomb a train with graffiti. as we got older many tenants were complaining about the loud noise and probablly the stolen electricy lol so many of the block parties had to be stopped but we then took our hip hop scene into the night clubs like latin quaters, the roxy (where they filmed beatstreet) ect. where we had to start paying to get in lol unless you were in the vip list which i always was but the hip hop scene was still very strong in the clubs, streets and any house jam you can find.....those were the days...
