first beat: uncharted, bobo's bass was off key, I wasn't diggin it.
second beat: uncharted
third beat: I dunno who's is better, uncharted beat is kinda repetitive. And bobos beat starts off real cool but then goes all over the place Uncharted's first two beats were good tho. good job.

Quote (J-Breakz) first beat: uncharted, bobo's bass was off key, I wasn't diggin it. haha i was planning on saying the same. that baseline irritated me in BobO's first beat. the second round i personally preferred Uncharted's beat because it was more my style, but dude, you need to clean the record or something. too much static at the end of the loop. as for BobO's, while yours was cleaner, as i said, it wasn't my style. i'll have to go with Uncharted here. the last beat was a bit of a toss up for me as well. i liked both beats. as J-Breakz said, Uncharted's shortcoming is in that it is repetitive and BobO's was that it was all over the place making it not catch my ear as much as i would have wished. i'll call this round a tie. overall Uncharted wins my vote.

Quote (Uncharted) after an another listen i heard it yeah, like i said, don't trip, it's not a huge deal. beat is dope. but if you want to get full use out of that sample, pull out the record cleaner and flip it again lol. those are little things you begin noticing the more you experience production and condition your ear to disseminate between quality production and not so great production.

Using a dusty record isn't necessarily a bad thing, actually albums like bizarre ride II the pharcyde were praised for the raw sound they got from dusty records they used. A common problem however would be when somebody doesn't loop a sample clean enough and you hear a distinct pop, but the beat sounded more like he was just using a dusty record.
