That was a tribute to Richard Prior. He said that many years ago in a comedy show.

please! DOOM has crazy ass lines. need i quote myself: Quote (eboyd) And here are some of my favorites from MF DOOM: "Couldn't find a pen, had to think of a new trick/ This one he wrote in cold blood with a toothpick/ On second thought it's too thick/ His assistant said "DOOM, you sick"/ He said "true through accoustics"." "Got more soul (sole) than a sock with a hole/ Set the stage with a goal/ To have the game locked in a cage getting shocked with a pole"

dude, you didn't catch the ingenious pun i laid out so obviously you would have to be blind to miss it? let's compare. you said this is your favorite punchline and it happens to also be a pun: "to battle me your gonna need GEORGE and FOUR MEN (FORMAN)" -punchline "Got more soul (sole) than a sock with a hole/ Set the stage with a goal/ To have the game locked in a cage getting shocked with a pole" -MF DOOM in case you don't realize it, what happens when you have a hole in your sock? that's right! your foot touches the sole of the shoe! to say the least, these are both tough punchlines.

that Foreman one is meh to me. i guess it is just tastes in music. those two lines, no matter what, are exactly the same thing. they are homophone based puns. they make use of two words/phrases that sound exactly the same but mean something different and they both utilize a simile to assist their puns. each line has the exact same structure and arguably took the same ingenuity. the only thing that makes them differ is their delivery. DOOM chooses to deliver in a monotonous way which, if you don't like it, that is on you, but that doesn't make that line, writing wise, any different than that George Foreman line. besides, i like the first one better.

hate to burst your bubble, but a lot of rappers who "freestyle" memorize lines and spit them and call it a "free." not saying Punch and Words did this in the freestyle above, but it's extremely likely, especially with how many similes they were coming with there. hearing a shitload of wordplay in a free is a red flag that it is not a true free and that those lines were simply memorized.
