Masta Ace was in the Juice Crew and he was like the guy who, behind BDK and KGR, was the main emcee. the Juice Crew owned hip hop in the 80's. that's like calling Rakim underground. and do you realize how much airplay B.I.B.L.E. got back in 1995??? that shit was one of those track that every hip hop fan, mainstream or underground, knew about and bumped and he's been on MTV/BET since that track too. neither are underground.

DOOM is underground. Masta Ace was popular at one time, so was Killah Priest. you can't go from one of the most popular hip hop artists to being underground, you just become a legend. Masta Ace is a legend, but far from underground.

Quote (ill) but doom is an underground legend it almost puts you up above it know what i mean nah man, that's not how it works. if you are an underground legend that means you are a hip hop legend who just happens to be underground. you are still underground. that's like saying "man, Nas (of course i disagree with this, but most people say him so i am exemplifying him) is a legendary emcee. he's pretty much on such a different level that you can't even call him an MC because he's a step above that." that's BS.

True, he is a legend but i think if u call him underground today it's ok, for example people say that Edo.G is real underground ,because hardly anybody knows him...only some call him a legend from boston, what he really is. He had some mainstream tracks like "Love Comes And Goes", "Be A Father To Your Child" back in the 90`s. Not the same as juice crew of course, but similar. Both not really underground but only real hip hop heads like Big E will notice that.

Quote (eboyd) i'd hardly call Killahc Priest or Masta Ace underground, but otherwise it's a good list. I could even argue Canibus isn't really underground either. He's been in the masses once upon a time too with the "4,3,2,1" song. He just didn't suceed in the mainstream.
Only god can judge me.
