" Well after news broke yesterday (November 6th) that DMX might be dropping out of his celebrity boxing match, a representative for the rapper has come forward to address the claims. According to DMX's manager, Nakia Waker, the original plans called for the fight to be staged. "Event Promoter and Management agree that [DMX] is scheduled to win Boxing Challenge." Walker also added a line to an addendum for the contract which read, "All parties agree this event has been scheduled to occur only in fun and that the artist involved is not a professional boxer."

The fight promoters, Thunder Promotions, refused to sign the addendum, claiming they never agreed to fix anything. Now, DMX is threatening to back out and the promoters are looking for someone to replace the rapper while they also prepare a lawsuit for breach of contract. DMX's rep tells us the rapper really does want to fight -- rigged or not -- but she's forcing his hand because "he's a hip hop artist, not a boxer."

After DMX decided to get out of the Alabama amateur boxing match on December 12th with actor slash musician Edward Martinez (who actually managed X at one time), the fights promoters Thunder Promotions has signed one-time chart topping rapper Coolio to replace him. According to multiple reports, DMX wanted the fight to be fixed so he would win and his safety gauraunteed, well the promoters won't have to worry about that with Coolio, "Coolio has been much easier to deal with and "he is going to take this seriously," the told TMZ.

Coolio versus Martinez will take place on December 12th at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex in Alabama as part of Thunder Promotions' "Alabama Pride" event. In addition to his acting work, Martinez currently serves as CEO of Powerhouse Entertainment. After releasing a string of commercially successful singles in the 90's, including 1995's best-selling "Gangsta's Paradise," Coolio hasn't had a Billboard top 200 single in over a decade. His latest album, Still Hear was released in 2008 on Super Cool Records.
