 backpackers arent around like they use to be but, back in the early 90s late 80s, there would be people that made hip hop basically there life and would travel with spray paint headphones and other casettes or discs. but since there are mp3 players now and ipods, there going extinct.

 i know in the 90's the backback was actually a trend, rappers used to wear it all the time in music videos. but these days i think the term is mostly used by people who like mainstream garbage, so they use the term backpack rap as an insult to people that listen to underground, conscious or old school hip hop. but hip hop heads that listen to underground are starting to embrace the term.

i think thats how it is anyway i might be wrong
