we've already had 2 comments and neither mentioned J Dilla???? BLASPHEMY!!!!!!

J Dilla by far has produced the best material since the 90's. anyways, here's my list (in no particular order):

J Dilla
Madlib
DJ Premier
Dan The Automator (Deltron 3030 alone puts him on this list)
Black Milk
Kno
El-P
DJ Stoupe
Hi-Tek
Kanye West

and for some honorable mentions...

Wajeed
14KT
Oh No
Exile
Pete Rock & The RZA (both of them kind of fell off after the 90's tbh but they still deserve mention)
Ayatollah
Q-Tip
Large Professor
Marco Polo
Blockhead
Fat Jon
MF DOOM
Damu The Fudgemunk
Flying Lotus
Edan
Ant
Jay Electronica
Alchemist
Just Blaze
No ID
etc.

whoever i forgot... sorry, but fuck, there's just too many!

Why does Premo belong as one of the best of this decade?
I think its safe to say his best beats reside in the 90's

even so, his work over the last decade is better than the majority of all other producers

Mine:
Dilla
Kanye West
Black Milk
Premo

agreed but i'd also add MF DOOM, Necro and Exile in that top list. Necro's beats are sick as fuck but he usually only produces on his own albums

DOOM was close for me. i like Necro's beats, i hate his rapping though, and the fact that he doesn't produce on too many other rappers' albums makes him not even make my radar. you are right though, he could make my honorable mention at least. as for Exile, he's definitely not worthy of the list. that list is very exclusive. he's not on that caliber. he's good tho.

actually i was wrong Necro has produced a lot of beats for other artists,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necro_production_discography

plus instrumental albums, he's also put out 6 albums during the 2000's (more than most rappers) and produced nearly all the songs on them and all of them are sick. As for Necro's rapping i don't like most of the things he raps about but he has one of the best flows and is very lyrical

if you really want to see how good Necro's beats are try flowing over them, i guarantee they will bring out an real energy in you you may not have had over any other beat, thats how it is for me anyway, i find Necro some how manages to put these emotions and feelings in the beats you can feel more than other beats

hell no!!!! his flow is one of the worst in hip hop! that's exactly why i don't like him actually. i mean yeah, his lyrics are kind of corny, but his delivery and his flow fucking suck ass!!!!!
