well he's not a TERRIBLE rapper but he's pretty whack imo. I dunno, I like a handful of his songs but it gets really boring when a whole album is just the same rant over and over again. Feels like practically every song is either about how the government, religion, conspiracies, or just Tech boasting about how great he is. Where's the appeal in that?

i get what you are saying. like i personally talk about politics in my music, as you probably heard on my album, but i only have 3 tracks on the album that can be classified as political with a few other tracks having political references here and there, and the way i present them is completely different with each track. i also speak on different topics like social issues, emotional issues, and of course how lyrically dope i am :D i know Tech is the type to have 10 political songs on a 14 track album. he gets away with it though in the sense that he specifically markets his music to the college and faaaaaar left crowd and those are people who buy into hearing politics on every song.

Yeah exactly. It's became more of a personal bias at this point now. I've had so many silly arguments with Tech fanboys, even once when someone told me something like "Immortal Technique music helps people in third world countries, what does your favorite rapper do?"

lol i think they were referring to the fact that he uses most of the money he makes to do things like purchase orphanages in third world war torn countries like Afghanistan and then actually flies over there to oversee them being built. still, that has nothing to do with the music, but it does show that unlike all these fake ass coffee shop revolutionary hip hop artists, he's actually doing something real.
