Not examples of shock value artists though. Was thinking of Gravediggaz and Eminem, the Slim Shady stuff. Needs to be have humouristic value too... Like that Criminal skit when Slim robs a liquor store or something and shoots the clerk before jetting, that was fun.

i like that jazzy type hip hop but it also depends on my moods, go right to some hardcore.. just like my taste in music, i can go from listening to hip hop then go on to some reggae

If I'm walking or something, I like hardcore sounding shit, or Percee P type stuff
but if I'm sitting down somewhere, I like chilled, relaxed stuff like Panacea
What made me ask this, is coz we often get a lot of hardcore type submissions, that sound like Vinnie Paz type stuff in the email, but its not really my preferred taste, some of them to me, don't sound that good so a lot of it I don't put up, but then I was thinking, maybe others from here might actually like that stuff

yep vinnie paz style has always been big with pedestrian hip-hop fans, i think it's just cause it's very simple and accessible so people can enjoy it yet it gives off the impression that it's super real and serious even if there's actually not a whole lot of substance. same way i feel about pedestrian fans who are really into immortal technique, they could listen to a song where all he does is brag about how great he is and how shitty every other rapper is and they'll still claim it had some great political message haha
