Quote (J-Breakz) If we went back to the gold standard instead of fiat money the government wouldn't be allowed to inflate the economy and put it in the condition it's in right now. i don't see how backing it with gold will be any different. the government still ultimately determines the worth of gold and still has some control over it's supply. maybe they have more control over fiat money, but let's be real. if the government wanted us to believe that gold was far more scarce or abundant than it really is, it is well within their capacity to do so. Quote (J-Breakz) Also, if government cut spending on useless or evil programs and welfare plans. "evil programs"??? care to define this? also, which programs would you consider useless? lastly, regulations will need to be met to assure families currently on welfare don't fall flat on their faces before we cut out welfare entirely and then we will need to find ways to steadily ensure that these families will remain out of poverty without need for assistance. capitalism cannot assure that. there are no safe holds in capitalism that assure no one falls through the cracks. an anarcho-syndicalist society, much like the kibbutzes of Israel, breeds a society in which productivity becomes the key through teamwork. Quote (J-Breakz) Also, stop going to war and cut the military budget enormously would help a lot as well. We got nuclear war heads, there's no need in spending more money on bullets or tanks or ships, etc. I'm sure there's more but if we were to do that we would begin to pay off the debts that we owe as a country. agreed here. Quote (J-Breakz) if it does fall soon (which I don't think it will) I wonder if there's goin to be massive riots and shit, that'd be entertaining to watch. LOL!

Quote (J-Breakz) The fed is unconstitutional i agree. and not only is it unconstitutional, it has a hand in ruining society's economic structure. it isn't, however, the only factor and it probably isnt' even the driving factor.

Quote (J-Breakz) If we went back to the gold standard Wouldn't all nations need to be on a gold standard?

Quote (J-Breakz) I don't believe in a national bank either. yes, but we weren't discussing our beliefs, we were discussing what the government should do and how the current system would be improved, or at least a sort of transition period between the current system and our ideal systems. Quote (J-Breakz) I was talking about corporate welfare. oh, you mean like the bailouts? you should make that clear.

Quote (eboyd) yes, but we weren't discussing our beliefs, we were discussing what the government should do and how the current system would be improved, or at least a sort of transition period between the current system and our ideal systems. Huh? I was discussing what I believe we should do as a country from the beginning, lol. I believe we shouldn't have a national bank. It would improve our economy and help get rid of the huge debt we have right now.Quote (eboyd) oh, you mean like the bailouts? you should make that clear. Well because money is wasted more on corporate welfare than any other type of welfare program I figured people would understand what I was talking about. But you're right, I should of been more clear.

Quote (J-Breakz) nope. what makes you think that? How can separate nations engage in commerce if one has fiat money and the other has solid?

Quote (J-Breakz) How do you think people buy gold today in America? the only thing separating gold from fiat money today is gold's relatively higher scarcity. what makes you think a gold standard will improve things?

Quote (eboyd) the only thing separating gold from fiat money today is gold's relatively higher scarcity. Yes, gold has a higher value. That's because of the govn't inflating the economy enormously with US currency lowering the value of the dollar. Quote (eboyd) what makes you think a gold standard will improve things? Govn't won't be able to inflate or deflate the economy. American corporations relying on fiat money and inflation will have to stop being lazy and start thinking wisely about the amount of widgets they choose to produce. The economy would improve. Government will have one less way to screw over the people (because they just print more money to fund their programs).
