Nah I'm no emo.. But fuck how can you say that a band like Fugazi isn't punk (even though they were called emo by alot)
I mean alot of bands that would be labeled emo are really just direct off shoots of hardcore punk.
Like i would consider all this punk just cause of the sheer rawness and attitude of it all... "have heart" was actually a very politically active band.
AFI was "emo" but was FUCKING BADASS before they got signed to a major label.. they did some actual punk shit. now they suck so hard.
don't get me wrong though, i actually like a few bands that are super emo that aren't punk at all, from second wave emo in the mid 90's.. like sunny day real estate, the get up kids..
but nah I wouldn't say i'm emo lol.
. And actually yes, for example Rites of Spring are not bad, many early 1980s bands that later were described as Emo weren't bad at all. But still, your still an Emo.
