no, what it has to do with is the lyrical ability level of the entire game of the time when they became famous and from there, it was their college frat party appeal that kept them going. remember, the best emcees back then were Rev Run, Kurtis Blow, Kool Moe Dee and Melle Mel. it wasn't like anyone was anywhere near lyrical then. it was about breaks and block parties then.
