 ^^^^ i noticed the distortion on the kick as well. same problem mainstream producers have man. you can tell those mofos don't know what the fuck they're doing because they're like "hey, it gotta have kick mayne! make it bump!" and they fucking throw the kick up as loud as possible and make it sound shitty as hell in doing so. yours sounds dope other than that though. not comparing you to mainstream cats. sorry. just talking about that shit because the convo reminded me of that.

 I'm listening on my studio monitors... they give an accurate portrayal of what the music sounds like without the frills and enhancements fro the most part...

Sounds good to me... if you think the kick is too loud or distorted... try dampening it with a limiter or lower the volume and mix it with another clean bass drum hit... Experiment a bit and see wut happenz..

A Kick im making now has a sound effect from the opening doors in Star Wars... it seemed to mesh the bass well with the hats thru the barz... I reversed it tho'.. and lowered the volume so it tucked underneath the Kick.. Now tomorrow I'll add some Bass Keys.. (A ton of work, and for only one section of the song..)

It pays off tho' .. It would be fun i thnk if we did a remix project... But it's one project at atime for me... lol I gots my hands full..

 nice! that's the kind of shit we're doing in my Digital Audio Design class (using Pro Tools) but it's more for sound effects that we do that. i didn't even think to do that with music! BRILLIANT! i'm going to start trying shit like that! i make my own sound effects though biggrin
