i'm about to drop a beattape this september.. in order to draw some attention to it, a friend of mine made a video to one of the beattape's beats (or actually to a shortened version of it).. the track is called 'wintertime'..
no software at all.. just some vinyl and my mpc (most of the time my 2500, in rare cases my old 2000xl).. i'm constantly told i would benefit greatly from using software, at least as a complement, but until i feel i exhausted my possibilities with the mpc, i'll stick to it.. for further informations, check out

First off, these beats are sick, and software definitely can be very useful once you learn it's ins and outs. Then again i've never used hardware for my beats (all midi-controlled), so i cant exactly say i like software more than hardware. [deleted]
