I wanted to put this in Hip hop but went here because technically hes not, although I do feel he is one of the unofficial grandfathers of hip hop. If some of you guys haven't heard of him, I guarantee yall have heard his music. Dozens of times sampled he's made some of the greatest funk/soul music ever. He's truly a king and has been forgotten by many. He recently came out with a new album and did a nice track with ras kass which a was a shock to me. ^^Songs of Experience, Songs of Innocence, and David Axelrod (self titled), either of those are awesome. honesty though I've got a good portion of dudes catalog and I put that on random, shit rarely gets boring. the only album I sort of dont like was this weird christian/soul hybrid. little to weird for me.

i know i've heard this guy mentioned somewhere but i've never heard his music before.

these songs would make great beats though i can see why he was used to much. i like that Divine Image

No doubt I love Holy Thursday (or tuesday I forgot what it was called) by him.
I heard it on GTA IV and it was great.
