Skyzoo & !llmind Set to Release 'Live From The Tape Deck' on October 5th + TracklistFeatures in place from Sean Price & Rock of Heltah Skeltah, Styles P, Buckshot, Rhymefest & Torae A little after one year since releasing 'The Salvation,' Skyzoo returns with a new album entitled 'Live From The Tape Deck,' entirely produced by !llmind. Skyzoo, of Brooklyn, NY, has spent the last year promoting & touring off 'The Salvation,' completing separate nationwide tours with Ghostface Killah & Raekwon. His music has been featured in ESPN programming and most recently in an episode from the current season of Entourage. 'Live From The Tape Deck' is the perfect follow-up record for Skyzoo fans who are anxious for new material. Skyzoo says his goal while recording the album was " to make something that felt like a 2010 cassette tape. I wanted the content to be raw and lyric driven as always, but not as story driven or emotional as 'The Salvation' !llmind took a custom approach to the production for the album based on the concept of "Live From The Tape Deck," explaining that he "wanted to keep the soundscape warm and 'analog' sounding, just like how 2 inch tapes used to sound. Most of the keyboard and synth sounds I used were from analog synths made in the late 80's. Combined this with using my ASR-10, I was able to capture that feeling, but with a slightly updated feel. I think our debut record, 'Frisbees' was a cool way, sonically, to introduce the sound I was going for." Skyzoo & !llmind secured features from artists that matched the 'Live From The Tape Deck' concept. Skyzoo goes further saying, "I went to who I felt made sense for the records I put them on. For instance, when fans hear the track, "the burn notice", they'll agree that the beat, being chaotic and loud, had Heltah Skeltah written all over it." A music video is currently in production for the lead track off the album, entitled "Speakers on Blast," which will premiere shortly. 'Live From The Tape Deck' is in stores October 5th on Duck Down Music Inc.

MP3: Quazedelic Feat. Snoop Dogg - "Hold On" (Download)While producer and all-around artist Quazedelic has played a crucial role in the Snoop Dogg's music behind the scenes, a full on collaboration between the fonk monk and Doggfather was destiny waiting to be fulfilled – until now. “Hold On,” off Quazedelic’s upcoming debut LP Stan Sly: AnuthaWorld, has the artists combining their smooth, similar styles from separate genres for the album's first single. Similar to Snoop Doggs appearance on of The Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach, the result is soothing combination of funk and hip-hop that takes listeners to another place; in this case, Anuthaworld. About his own style for the upcoming album, Quazedelic says, “I bridge the gap between serious real life songs with fantasy funk tracks.” That is exactly what he does with “Hold On.” The track opens with a deep, sensual voice, “Looking back in my conscious mind, digging back and searching to find...” The lyrics set up a mystic atmosphere where anything can happen. However, many of Quazedelic’s lyric’s are grounded in reality: “I’m Working hard, praying night and day, that something good might come my way.” Snoop Dog’s lyrics serve as an alternative reality, the id of the song, so to speak. He raps, “So raise up off of me, and let me dip up the streets in my 73/ Grey on black interior, black like me, chandeliers hanging with the ass swinging,” while Quazedelic harmonizes in the background. The spectacular dream-world that snoop dogg raps about plays against the pain-filled sound of Quazedelic’s harmonies. “Hold On,” helps explain the purpose of funk, and how it can be used as a vehicle to escape from reality. Quazedelic's Stan Sly: Anuthaworldwill be available October 5th via Georgia Anne Muldrow's and Declaime's SomeOthasShip Connect.
