Jasiri X - Three Little Girls - Video @jasiri_x - For Woman's History Month

For Woman's History Month we wanted to shed light on how violent this society is especially towards woman and girls. "Three Little Girls" tells the stories of the senseless murders of Christina Taylor Green who was killed during the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, Brisenia Flores who was gunned down by anti-immigrant militia intent on starting a race war, and Aiyana Jones who shot to death while asleep in her home, by the Detroit Police Department, while they were filming a reality TV show.

Zion I & The Grouch – "Rockit Man" Feat. Silk-E

With their brand new sophomore album, Heroes In The Healing Of The Nation, all ready for release tomorrow, Zion I & The Grouch are happy to unveil their latest video, for the single “Rockit Man" featuring Bay Area singer/rapper Silk- E, presented by Matt Hobbs of Vital Films and directed by Robyn Twomey. As might have been hoped, the newly released "Rockit Man" music video finds Z&G utilizing the planets, stars, and other elemental imagery to compliment the tracks delightfully spacey tonalities. Also, shot completely in black-and-white, there's an added touch of meditation, which compliments the songs central theme of transcendence.

In addition to releasing the new video, Zion I & The Grouch just wrapped up three packed days of shows at SXSW, including their late addition to the Audible Treats 2nd Annual Hip-Hop Showcase, performing as one of the showcase's headline acts in front of a capacity audience at The Scoot Inn. Following the performance, Zion I & The Grouch kicked off their nationwide tour with a sold out show at San Francisco's historic Fillmore Auditorium. Full dates below for the rest of the tour can be found below.
