On Sunday, March 15, 2009 an FMLN candidate, Mauricio Funes, was elected President of El Salvador. Carlos Mauricio Funes Cartagen is a member of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front a Socialist political party that was formerly a revolutionary guerrilla organization. It seems it's an end to the reign of the neo-fascists that ruled El Salvador and transformed it into an US colony even giving El Salvadorian autonomy away trough adopting the US dollar as a currency.

my dad was part of the guerrillas did i ever tell you that menace?

ohh i didn't know that and of course as a Libertarian Socialist myself i don't trust any form of power even in the hands of fellow socialists because power always corrupts but at least his socialist policies will boost the public sector a public sector that is VERY VERY needed in El Salvador after the reign of the previous conservatives health care and many areas of the public sector are literary fucked

the only thing i really want is them to help the poor instead of making their pockets bigger cause thats what all of them pretty much do

well socialist policies are known to increase taxes on the rich to pay for programs such as health care or welfare he even stated that himself i happy for his win because there is a disastrous public sector in El Salvador because of that public sector being in that shape the country is in such way

I think this should be moved to "Knowledge/Political".
As my math teacher says about Rage Against The Machine, "I dont like no politics in my music!" I say the same about this thread, except "I dont like no politics in my regular off topic!"

Life's a bitch and I'm just along for the ride.
