in general inherently you have a Latin American background if your born there LOL

In London you got only whites, blacks, yellows and eventually people with arabic descent, there's no latinos. If you really look exotic being latino (rican, colombian, chilean), just like Thirstin Howl 3, they'll say that you are arabic

i'm hispanic and all i can tell u is how we been using the word hispanic in many spanish communities i was raised in where our friends are dominicans, equadorians, perurivians, mexicans, columbianos, cubans, puerto ricans etc.many of us at least in the united states that i know of, dont mind being called hispanic, We would normally say i'm mexican, i'm puerto rican, i'm equadorian but i think it means something different to others..i tell people i'm hispanic and for many of us latino and hispanic iis used in the same way when we conversate in spanish amongst each other, much like referring to a korean or japanese american as Asian. now in spanish it dont sound so bad lol but when white people say it, it can mean something different to them but not much amongst us..its not a race, its ethnicity, a culture, our language, way of living, customs.. sometimes we use latina, latino when we talk as meaning the same thing as hispanic, it all depends..i would say si yo soy hispana or latina or spanish not meaning i'm from spain but that i'm of the hispanic culture, raised, state of mind, traditions, meals etc. or my parents which ever it may be. in our community one might ask, tu eres hispana? (hispana meaning hispanic female) would be the first thing another hispanic person might ask me and i would say yes. meaning are you spanish or hispanic? then after that we would mention our herritage, ancestors, country, place of birth and its done..
in applications, forms, kids to be registered in school we have the check marks..white, black, hispanic/latino.
i check off hispanic even though its not a race but there is nothing else or hispanic and mixed if its there, my oldest son is half italian, irish, puerto rican and he checks off both, white/hispanic. thats all i could explain is what i've seen in our hispanic mixed communities here in the states, well at least in the east coast, i can't speak for any other areas..
