i just got back from Mic Sessions with Leila Steinberg (which i frequented when i was in LA permanently) and there was a guy there who was just sitting and watching. he ended up getting up and just talking to everyone on the mic and happened to mention his email address which was rickross@hotmail.com . i was thinking to myself "hmmmm.... i guess he's just another guy who is obsessed with gang/drug shit so he made his email to resemble one of the biggest drug kingpins of all time" but when i went home, i read on wiki that in September of this year "Freeway" Ricky Ross was released from prison after 20 years. i then looked at his picture and, sure enough, it was him :o i guess he's on the up-and-up now. that shit is mind boggling to me though lol!

so yes rick ross which is probably an overused msn ego somehow managed to save his name from until he got out of jail and then when he came out all the other rickrosses on msn someone how just bowed down to him right?

Lol I know! Haha! That's why it sounded sketchy to me. I was like "wtf??? How did the real Rick Ross manage to get the hotmail account with his name??????" lol!

How is it random??? You're telling me if you realized after the fact that you were just hanging around with the world's once foremost drug kingpin who JUST got released from prison you wouldn't make a thread about it???

crazy, small world. I'd never want to meet that man. he had a very large hand in destroying his people. I know he was not solely responsible, i know greater powers were at work, but that man hurt millions of people through his drive for $. Be careful if you do decide to e-mail him.

I don't plan to but I also don't think judging a man for a time in his life that is no longer a part of him is rational or acceptable. For example, if before Gandhi did all the great things he did he was a mass murderer, but he showed his sorrow for his actions and then did all the great things he did that we know him for, what would be more important? I go with the economic model that tells us that it is only the marginal actions that count; the "what have you done for me lately?" ideology. It isn't just that though. It is also what you have done to make up for your actions since then. If Gandhi killed 20 people, he could counterbalance that by saving an entire population from oppression easily. Rick Ross is doing positive things now and people that are doing positive things deserve a chance to continue no matter what they did in the past.

You have your opinions and that's cool, but someone who brings that much pain cannot be forgotten or forgiven in my eyes. If hitler "changed" would you be able to forgive him? I wouldn't. I don't hate the brother to the point where i want to cause bodily harm, i just have no respect or love for dude and never will for the millions he's hurt, killed, and made orphans.

ok, let's change the scenario. what if Rick Ross was with you and you were showing him blatant disrespect because of what you know he did and for some reason you and an entire city full of people's lives are at stake. for example, let's say someone is threatening with nuclear weapons and no one can stop them for some reason except for one person. let's say that one person just so happens to be Rick Ross, but he has to sacrifice his own life for the people to survive and he does. so he dies while simultaneously saving the lives of 1,000,000 or more people, which is, for the sake of argument, more than the amount who were killed or their lives ruined because of him. included in this list of people he saved is you. do you still hold the same views of him after that?

yes i do. those that are living because of Rick giving up his life still have to live with the pain he's caused. There is absolutely nothing he could ever do or say that would make me respect him. I know I'm a hypocrite because i don't hate low level drug dealers nearly as much. its just this cat is the sole reason why you see crack heads on the west coast. shits crazy, he was given a 2nd chance and he fuckin tried to do the shit again. an unforgivable act.

so where do you stand on this? would you not ever allow anyone of his stature out of prison no matter what or would you just frown upon that person? if that person was likely to do a great deal of good, i think your bias, given you picking the first option, would be harmful to society, especially considering Ross is actively trying to better the society as we speak.
