Quote (TheWatcher) If I were a cop I'd arrest your ass and book you for everything possible and plant some cocaine on you to show you; I've got the power! That badge gives them that power, if you say "well, you can't really arrest me because I don't even call 911, I choose not to use your services. You are dismissed, SIR," you'd only get a 'Resisting arrest' on top of anything you had beforehand. It's not a question of "why should they", the fact is that they have that power over you but if you want you could always sail to some island and live on your own, I'm sure they wouldn't bother you.. But fuck them. If enough people realize that police officers are sleezy and disrespectful, we can bring them down. We don't need them. I'm perfectly capable of policing my community, and people can police themselves anyways.
Life's a bitch and I'm just along for the ride.

Quote (J-Breakz) I think its illegal when there's a sign saying no u-turns yes, but there was no "No U Turn" sign. Quote (J-Breakz) Cops for the most part are just pricks that get off on having a sense of authority. They get off on being able to have power. And the scary thing is that they really do have power and can make ur day a horrible one, so I suggest bacon should learn to watch his mouth. agreed. Quote (J-Breakz) when I get stopped by cops I just remain polite but use the rights I have same here Quote (J-Breakz) Sir, is there a problem? I have to go soon or else I'll be late for my book club meeting. Quote (ilikebacon3000) Wrong. No one has "power" over you. No one. in essence, yes, but our country has built this false system in which they've created a sense of power over us and you alone can't make people realize that it's all a facade by simply resisting. there are much better ways of making your point. Quote (J-Breakz) You have no clue what it's like to live without public services so you take it for granted, but trust me, there's a reason why most people rather live in a city than out in the woods by themselves. word to this as well. Quote (ilikebacon3000) Why not? Because they have authority? Fuck that. I can go where I want, when I want. Anyone can. a dead or imprisoned revolutionary isn't very effective tbh. Quote (ilikebacon3000) I can understand that. But I would rather make my life harder and make someone use their brains and be like "Hmm... That actually wasn't such a bad idea" and change how someone thinks, than to just cooperate and see things stay the same. But I mean I see what you mean. I'm pretty sure half of my problem with cops is that I am short tempered when it comes to people thinking they run me. a valiant gesture, but ill-focused. trust me, if you abide by their rules and calmly/logically show people how they are flawed while still being obedient, you will get a lot further. i've opened many more eyes this way than when i've acted irrational. why do you think Noam Chomsky is so well renowned? dude is a libertarian socialist (a type of anarchist) and a professor at MIT. he's probably the most successful person alive today who has spread the same message we are because of his presentation. Quote (ilikebacon3000) If enough people realize that police officers are sleezy and disrespectful, we can bring them down. We don't need them. I'm perfectly capable of policing my community, and people can police themselves anyways. there's more to it than that, but yeah, you're basically right. the means by which you are showing people this message is immature though. Quote (J-Breakz) oooohhhh, u've been getting lectures from menace huh? lmao ooohhh ok nah, he's been talking to me and taking what i say and picking what makes sense to him, questioning me, and then coming to his own conclusions. as you can see, in this specific regard, he has taken his logic in a slightly different direction than i have on this subject. i won't get into your idea of PDAs here though so don't worry anyways, back on topic lol HMM, did you talk to Kool Keith for me?

Damn dude you remind me of me about 4 months ago when I started really opening up my mind on here. I know you asked Erik, but I would definitley suggest these things first -Find out what you think is right and wrong. -Make sure you think there is right and wrong in the world. -Read/watch things that interest you, even if you don't necassarilly agree or if you think that people will find it stupid. I watched plenty of Bill O'reily interviews. I hate the guy. But I like to know where people stand. -READ A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, by Howard Zinn! Amazing book. Here is a link for that book online. Just skim through it if you want. To be honest, I never even read it word for word. I went deeper than skimming, but more shallow than deep analyzation. Either way, I can guarantee you will learn something from it. http://www.historyisaweapon.com/zinnapeopleshistory.html

Quote (HateMainstreamMusic) eboyd can you send me some info on this stuff...its kind of overwhelming at first because theres so much new info to me and i still don't know where to start... no problem, but first, tell me, what aspect would you like to start with? i mean, i'm proposing a completely new society here lol. do you want to start with the economic system, decision making process, living arrangements... ? just pick a topic and i'll give you some information on it and after you've finished reading about it and think you have a firm understanding, just get back at me and i'll give you info on another aspect. Quote (ilikebacon3000) -Make sure you think there is right and wrong in the world. i would contest that the concepts of right and wrong are actually meaningless, but that's just me thinking philosophically lol. Yeah no offense but when you told me you got that, I had already gone through it. I went through it around last April lol. Quote (eboyd) i would contest that the concepts of right and wrong are actually meaningless, but that's just me thinking philosophically lol. I worded it wrong. I meant "Try to find out whether or not you think there is right and wrong.". I don't think there is at all. Let me add to that as well... Even if it doesn't really interest you, skim through it. You might learn something.

Having sex wit your dad is..? Robbing old ladies is..? Shooting Eboyd in the ass is.. (Right is the answer I'm going for)? Drinking another person's pee is..? Drinking your own pee is..? Right, or wrong? There definitely is a right or wrong but it's up to you how you interpret it.

"right" and "wrong" are meaningless terms. their concepts are human constructs. what we can do is determine our values. killing is unfavorable to a very high degree and therefore we should agree as a society to call it immoral. stealing, raping someone, hitting someone, etc., are all along these same lines. there are also situations where this may be different. for example, lying is something that we may usually consider immoral, but what if you are a German during the Holocaust who is against the internment camps and you decide to hide Jews in your basement. would you be doing something immoral if you lied to a Nazi soldier and told him you weren't hiding any Jews?

I can't say whether there's a force dictating what right or wrong is or not. However normal people usually consider molesting children, incest, rape, murder and a fair bit of other things wrong. As for lying I've never actually found it to be wrong unless it hurts other people in the process. For an example: "8D: So.. Eboyd.. I heard you had a same-sex-tendency.. tell me.. are you doing anything on Saturday night?" "Eboyd: "Ehh.. No?! Who the flowerin fluffin fluck told you that I, Erik Boyd, was gay?! You're way wrong 8D, you're WAY WRONG." That lie is somewhat harmless and doesn't hurt anyone, except 8D maybe so perhaps this was a bad example.
