now that I have a job (minimum wage, motherfuckers! getting about 400 per check every 2 weeks) i need to start saving up for my own car....
i want something that would be somewhat cheap to buy used (500-2000 is my range, give or take 500),
has decent MPG (20 at the very least), and is reliable (you know how certain models are known to be either really reliable, or really cheap to fix?)... and 4 door is a plus, but not needed.

i was thinking a mid 90's model sedan like these.

yeah yeah yeah I know the civic above isn't a 4-door, but from what little I know about cars,
i've heard honda is reliable and plus the hatchback has alot of room for shit.

maybe a lancer or an eclipse.. although an eclipse is a ricer (hope none of ya'll consider that racist...
it's a term commonly used around here and isn't considered by anyone, even asians to be racist. so i won't say it again if ya'll get pissy) but i'd still get it.

suggestions, for anyone that knows mucho about cars?
i honestly don't know shit other than I want something reliable that will get me to and from work (i'm walking at the time), and around to friend's houses.

Honda civic is what I want to purchase. They are always reliable and have good gas mileage which is a big deal right now.

You broked the thread.. Now I can't read it. :(

Get a Toyota, they last forever, and are reasonably economic. Buy a 10 year old Carina II, you'll be sure to have a ride for the next 15 years.

Get an 18 year old one then. Apparently they don't make them anymore.

Peugeot 06 series I think should be cheap by now. Either 106 or 206, both are easy to fix and are economical.
