The foundation of Roc-A-Fella Records occurred in 1996, beginning as an independent outlet for rapper Jay-Z's first album. After being turned down by several major labels, Carter, Dash and Burke started their own label through Priority Records, using money from the music videos provided by Payday Records due to their singles only deal.

What do you mean? You just answered your own question. Carter, Dash, and Burke started their own label with the support from Priority Records and used money from the budget given to them by Payday records if I'm reading what you put down correctly.

How is he a house negro? He is a CEO of a company.

Who cares though??

If you want to have a successful business you have to look at businesses before you and examine the things they did wrong and they did right. A record label is a business....

Jay-Z is a house negro you can't make hip-hop a business and still be a respectable artist.

Look at Immortal Technique.
He makes his living off of selling what he does, all by himself.
He supports himself quite well and is still the absolute REALEST artist out there.

Independent is the key word not musically controlled by businessmen . Music is made by musicians not by businessmen who have no musical qualifications

but I mean look at Jay-Z he changed according to the game, while still serving both the mainstream market and the real hiphop stuff.
I don't see him out there pulling off Lil Wayne stunts and shit.
He does his music and learned to expand his horizons business wise through clothing, stock, shit like that.
He is the king of New York. He got himself there.

And the quote?

What are you talking about? Pretty much every song he's made is about being the baddest rapper.

...no. I've listened to every song on both of his albums and he never says that (at least not in the way Wayne or Jay say it) so you're fucked up.

So??? What matters this??? That's not the most selfish shit ever, at least he doesn't directly put him over legends or anything aren't you overreacting????

What do you mean? He's saying his value is greater than any other rapper out there. How is saying your the greatest rapper wrong, but saying you're the most valuable rapper okay?
