Drake never has the best verse on a track but he's like Raekwon to me... I don't mind him being on a track with other artists I like but having him there is unnecessary.

I agree that Raekwon can be somewhat overrated but putting him down there with Drake is just downright offensive..

Drake isn't that bad though. Only his mainstream crap sucks.

if Nas was there then 1% of the albums commercial appeal would fall this albums commercial appealing ruined it

i heard somewhere that Nas didn't want to be on it,

maybe because he's already done 3 versions of NY State Of Mind including one already with Alecia Keys so he didn't want to do this "Empire State of Mind". The song is ok though, as for the album, Jay's rhymes aren't really impressive to me, they're alright and Jay-Z isn't wack, just nothing that makes me impressed especially with the lyrics on this album which seem worse then his others. However the production does seem pretty decent.

show me some good rhymes Drake brought show me some good ass rhymes that make him an MC

Drake feat. Elzhi & Phonte (prod. by 9th Wonder)

Drake isn't wack just being overrated atm.

i will admit though i don't like his flow too much on this song, seems a bit out of rhythm with the beat. alright lyrics though.

...Ok, well lupe destroys drake lyrically. Drake is often irrelevant to the subject of his songs when using similes and Lupe creates extended metaphors that illustrate his points that is both creative and entertaining. I don't know one person that is better than him, just because he has a unique style that a lot of rappers don't have. I wouldn't call him the best but you guys are ignoring a lot of the talent he has as a lyricist.

I agree with J Breakz here. Drake is decent. Lupe's dope but not the best. His style is unique and he puts together rhymes in a unique way which is what Lil Wayne also does, but the difference here is that Lil Wayne's rhymes are just unique. Lupe's are unique AND creative. That is what the rest of these new rappers lack. Before it was good to fit the industry formula and you can see a little bit that they are trying to create another formula, but since we are in a transitional period you see a lot of artists trying to be unique. The problem is that the ones getting signed aren't creative. Lupe was the exception here.
