Don't get pre recevied thoughts about my work just because its a christian poem
read it with an open mind because it about my life and the way I was thinking at the time
hope you get like it and get something out of it if you like it then i'll put more up

enjoy
Lyrical content

you don't know my story
fallen short for the glory
hanging on by a thread
tread over scorpions and snakes
his heart is what it takes
dunk me in lakes like Jesus
now i can piece together the pieces
Spirits is dead as a door nail
raise them from the pits of Hell
Don't want to try just to fail
can't step behind his vail
they ain't listenin to your callin
so tell your story walkin

I don't know, I just be talkin

Dealt with snakes all my life
what hate does is trife
can i get a moment of silence
envy is vain,pain and vilence
black as a onyx stone
aint that Spiritally grown
they've been lining to my soul
you just don't know what i was told
don't turn your back
pay attention
don't try to understand this just listen

because sometimes, I just be talkin

I fell in love with her
she lied to me about a baby
I don't care what you think
your not the one who saved me
just don't know how to...
don't understand why I can't...
if your going to stand still
then you can just move
cause I have something to prove
do you hear him calling
do you hear him loud and clear
he said thou shall not and he meant it
you've got some nerve
I just want to serve
got to forfill his plan
I want to see that land

man you just don't understand
how much my
mind
be
talkin

great job!!!! i see now. you are a spoken word poet while i am a traditional poet. that is how we differ. i actually got my start writing spoken word but i like expressing myself in a more abstract way. you can express yourself to a broader demographic in doing so and even people who strongly disagree with your views can enjoy it. this cannot be done with spoken word, however, with spoken word you can express yourself more directly, which you cannot do with traditional poetry.

but I rarely write poetry like "talk the talk" though most of my work is in more of a story form but it has a traditional feel to it though

so i guess you can call it traditional

OK, so we're sort of in the same boat. when i refer to traditional though, i mean like the kind that stands alone well in a book, has good meter, has ambiguous meaning, is grammatically correct, etc., much like that of the poetry of Shakespeare, Poe, Keats, Keating, Tennyson, Eliot, etc. is that what you are referring to?

oh in that case we are totally different then that's not my style i'm more straight plan and to the point i'll have to put more up and show you what i'm talking about it kind of an unorthodox style imo

OK. when i speak of spoken word, btw, i am referring to such poets as The Last Poets, The Watts Prophets, Gil Scott Heron, Saul Williams, etc. is it anything like that? that is sort of what this is like. either way, i'd love to see more.

oh, OK. i'd still LOVE to see more. we need to seriously set out to put together a mixtape or an album (probably strictly electronic for now) and get some of your poetry on there.

Yo, move this to the creative writing section.

We all know that each of our end is near; the question is do we accept the end of our living existence, or do we accept our existence as dead men...
