Fuck! I hate it when rich pimpin niggas who have no fuckin worry in the world, rap about livin in the ghetto, sellin drugs, stealin, and how they have such a hard life!! Im like, muthafuker ya sittin on billions!! Your not in the ghetto anymore muthafuka, and you don't have a hard life! And then us actually LIVING in the ghetto get a bad rep, because now people are assuming we're all bad! It's stupid, and now we got the cops, bustin up in our house, and searching our homes for illegals. angry2

Because I'm cool like dat. I'm chill like dat. I'm peace like dat.

Unfortunately, for every positive portrayal shown in HIP HOP, there are countless others who seem to have very little problem in the perpetuation of negative stereotypes in the genre.
With the songs and films that show everything from drug slinging to the mistreatment of women, one often wonders if this is, indeed, the feeling of such artists or if this is nothing more than putting out product that consumers want to buy??

In today's culture, the image of the young "mtv/bet" man with baggy jeans hanging below his backside, a mouthful of gold and a curvaceous "bitch" on his arm to influence sales and gain "street credibility".

99.99% world population thinks HIP HOP and Rap are the same sad

Oh and for me its when people all think
every person in hip-hop is ghetto. but its far from the truth
as a matter of fact 35% of al mc's tell nothing but bullshit
on there tracks to seem more ghetto then they really are.

thats almost my problem or i think people assume you are trash or very ghetto if you listen to hip hop even though i dress very casual and sometimes more professional and alot of reg jeans, i dont wear hip hop looking clothes but either way me being older and a mom..others find it strange i listen to hip hop..not that they even take the time to listen to the lyrics and assume i'm listening to trash.
