to be honest it more like favoritism to me, artists like big l and kool g rap can rhyme about "street" stuff and no one blinks an eye,he's still respected as an emcee while other artists get scorned for the same thing like when tha science posted that sig with the young lady shaking her butt he said he was illustrating big l's lyrics right? i was the only one who called big l out for saying some crap like that everyone else defended it why is it ok for an artist big l to say stuff like that while other artists get scorned for it right is right and wrong is wrong despite who0 says it, if it's wrong for soulja boy to say things like that then it should be wrong for everyone don't make exceptions just because the other artist might rhyme better or what not, ok let's say for a min that big l never existed, now if lil wayne came out his face saying " i was f*cking chicks in the a** since six a half" y'all would jump all over him and you all know i'm telling the truth

if we going to do this we need to do it right some of y'all need to get your priorities in chick for real, now i know i'm going to catch flack for for this but to be honest i don't really care the truth is never popular so...

This is true good thing i dont pick favoritism. I go by talent and how you use your talent. That was only one line and Big L was a hell of a story teller and actually had talent. Now i know that Lil Wayne has talent he changed somewhere in his career though that was his choice. Now I dont think Hip Hop Music has to always be positive or always be negative. If a girl is a bitch to me imma call her a bitch if i like fucking from the back imma say i like fucking from the back what you cant do is have 20 songs about fucking from the back.

i understand that don't get me wrong i'm not bad mouthing big l or anything like that i was trying to make a point
how can you scorn another artist for the same thing (some of them take it too far i know this) is it not wrong say things like that?
all i'm saying is the same rule should apply for all artists regardless of rep you can't say biggie isn't hip hop for say those things and make exceptions for another artist if kool g rap can rhyme about girls and things like that and still be and emcee what wrong with B.I.G? if it's wrong for B.I.G then it's wrong for G Rap that's all i'm saying it's not right to call an artist out for some thing and let the other one go for the same thing

well i don't like lyrics like that either, but with lil wayne etc, those guys just rap about the same shit over and over and over, at least people like big l rap about other things. besides hardcore hip hop was big L's genre so he had to make it hardcore.

word to Chinita the founder of the RHHF said there is a difference between rap and hip hop and there is and people forget that the word RAP was created as a slang word for hip hop in time after corporate monopolization of hip hop began rap became an entity of itself

i haven't ignored you. i heard every word you said. it's a valiant idea, but positivity doesn't need to be the ONLY thing hip hop represents. i don't hate a cat like Lil Wayne or 50 Cent because he represents something negative, i hate them because their rhymes are rudimentary and poorly written. i listen to some negative music, not much, but i also recognize that gangsta hip hop, though it often perpetuates stereotypes, is often used as a political tool to express anger over police corruption and such. 50 Cent and other gangsta RAPPERS perpetuate stereotypes while glorifying the gang culture. that is the difference. when have you even heard 50 in an interview, song, w/e, talk about him doing what he does to "let the kids know it isn't something you want to get into"? even Eazy E got on that West Coast all stars jam talking about how gang culture is bad and violence is bad. as for the whole idea that negativity in hip hop shouldn't be tolerate from Big L either, i disagree. i think anyone who can make a track like "Ice Cream" by the Wu Tang Clan and do it as well as they did lyrically, regardless of the fact that they are just talking about honeys, is/are good artists. as i previously stated, i have read great poetry about homosexual anal sex and horrid poetry about love, God, etc. it isn't the message, it is he way the message is conveyed.

It's not even that for me. You can rap about the same shit over & over all the time for all I care. As long as you got skill, that's all that should matter.

Lil' Wayne actually does talk about some relevent shit when he TRIES ("Tie My Hands" & "Georgia Bush" for example) but homie is just straight lazy with his rhymes & that's why I can't stand him.

Not to mention some of the songs he comes out with is straight garbage.

Only god can judge me.

truth i understand where your coming from but with the big l comment i made i was just saying the same rule should apply for all artists ( unless ofcourse your talking about a cat who only talks about those things) ok lets take big l and b.i.g they talked about some of the same things both positve and negitve imo but b.i.g often gets scorned for it, but not big l see what i'm saying? how is that right?

all i ever hear 50 cent rap about is how he's got money and going to the bank and shit like that. thats why more and more people aren't listening to him now, no one can relate to him coz all he ever raps about is how he's rich. i don't think big L was rapping about that.

even Eazy E got on that West Coast all stars jam talking about how gang culture is bad and violence is bad.

actually if you listen to the song Eazy-E, MC Ren and Dr. Dre kept a negative message and glorified it more. all the other rappers were talking about gang culture and violence being bad but not n.w.a.

the reason i don't mind people like big l or wu tang talking about negative things sometimes is coz they usually do it in a creative way or real way. although i do hate a lot of the things wu-tang say, a lot of the stuff on only built for cuban linx seemed corny to me but the beats saved it. but if its done out of reality or talking about an experience they really went through or even a clever story or in originality than i don't care. its only when people like 50 cent are being all fake saying they're gangstas just for the sake of trying to look cool, or posing as something they're not, or done in a wack and unoriginal way thats what is the difference to me. they're not being real.
